What We Run

Our programs

The Mental Wellness Project runs free, student-led mental health education programs. We are not a clinical service, and we do not provide therapy or counseling. What we do is more foundational: we teach students how to recognize when they or a friend are struggling, how to talk about it without shame, and where to go for real help. Every program below is designed, scheduled, and delivered by students. Here is what we are currently doing.

Classroom Workshops

Student-led presentations for classrooms and clubs on recognizing struggle, talking about mental health without shame, and knowing where to turn for help.

Peer Support Sessions

Small group discussions run by students, for students, focused on everyday stress, connection, and looking out for one another.

Community Outreach Events

Tabling, presentations, and events at schools and community spaces that bring mental health education beyond the classroom.

We're also building an app: Halo

Alongside our in-person programs, we are developing Halo – Mental Wellness, a free self-guided app for journaling, mood tracking, and breathing exercises. Halo is available now on the Google Play Store and is currently going through App Store review for iOS.

Halo includes a private journal, mood and gratitude logging, guided breathing exercises, and a resources section listing crisis lines like 988 and the Crisis Text Line. Every entry is encrypted and stored only on your device, with no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. You can also lock the app with Face ID or your device's biometrics for extra privacy. Halo is a self-guided wellness tool, not a substitute for therapy or crisis care.

Bring a program to your school

We work with teachers, counselors, club advisors, and student organizations. There is no cost. If you'd like us to run a session at your school or community organization, get in touch and tell us your grade level, your available class period, and roughly how many students you're expecting.
